This year’s Jurassic Lanark is as ROARSOME as ever, with several dino-packed trails to follow: the classic Monster Trail through Lanark town centre and Castlebank Park; the fun-sized Mini Trail featuring dino displays in local shop windows; and, NEW for '26, the Explorer Trail, which launches on Saturday 4 July and takes intrepid dinosaur hunters beyond Lanark town centre.

Step into the world of the dinosaurs with our exciting FREE family adventures. The Monster Trail will lead you to around 20 giant dinos … waiting to be discovered. Or take on the Mini Trail, winding past 13 shop windows in town, each hiding a clue. Complete one – or both – and earn your Jurassic Lanark Badge, showing everyone you're a true dinosaur hunter! Launching on 4th July, we have the Explorer Trail, where you'll find another 15+ dinosaurs, large and small, across locations including New Lanark World Heritage Site, Scottish Wildlife's Falls of Clyde, Langloch Farm and Lanark Agricultural Centre.

Pick up a free trail map from Tolbooth Lanark on High Street in the heart of the town centre (postcode ML11 7EX), open daily from 10am to 5pm. Our friendly volunteers are on hand with handy tips to help you complete your adventure. You can also download a trail map HERE. The full route is just under 2 miles long. Please note there are some narrow pavements on the route and areas with no pavement on the steep walk down to Castlebank Park. There is also a steep slope including shallow steps within the park.
