A wooden William Wallace sculpture is now on display at Castlebank Park and will become the centrepiece of a new rose garden.
The statue, located at the terraced gardens, comes as part of the Lanark Community Development Trust’s ongoing regeneration of Castlebank Park.
The hard-working volunteers at the site, in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council’s community payback team and Clydesdale Community Initiatives, cleared the overgrown area and have transformed it into what will soon become a blossoming garden.
The sculpture has been paid for by a crowdfunding initiative and the Lanark Common Good Fund.
The area will also host the launch of a new Wallace Trail, which features the rose garden, later in June.
