The Lanark Community Development Trust has purchased 50 Christmas trees and flagpole brackets which will be made available to local businesses in a bid to brighten up the town centre.

Local traders based at the lower Wellgate, lower High Street, Broomgate and Castlegate will all be eligible in order to keep the display within a defined area.

The project will be managed by the Rotary Club of Lanark.

After the festive period the trees and lights will be collected and stored by the Rotary Club of Lanark. The brackets can then be used for hanging baskets or flags during the spring and summer.

The package costs £30 per unit to cover the cost of installation and will shortly be available by contacting the Rotary Club of Lanark.
