New players welcome

more

With Wimbledon well underway the nation will be gripped to their television screens once again this year to see if Andy Murray can retain his crown.

Many people get the tennis bug during this time of the year and if you would like to pick up a racquet you can head along to Lanark Tennis Club and discover more about the game.

The club is keen to welcome both beginners and experienced players and they are fortunate enough to have some very talented coaches in their ranks.

The club, based in Chapland Road, play from late April until the end of September and hold a number of friendly competitions and coaching sessions.

Monday nights from 7.30pm are club nights where all standards are welcome for social tennis and new members are warmly encouraged to head along.

Adult coaching takes place on Tuesday nights with the ladies session running from 7.30pm until 8.30pm and the gents play from 8.30pm until 9.30pm.

Junior coaching is available on Saturdays free of charge for members with non-members paying just £5.

From 9am until 10am beginners from preschool to primary two take to the court and from 10am until  11am primary three to primary five players pick up a racquet.

Intermediate sessions from primary six to first year youngsters take place from 11am until 12 noon with advanced sessions for second year to sixth year pupils from 12 noon until 1pm.

Private coaching is also available and if you would like to learn more contact Colin Thomson on .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or you can also visit their website and Facebook page.
