About the Role
Please see below a brief outline of the duties we're looking for the Workshop Assistant to undertake:
Assisting with loading and unloading components and materials
Moving components between different stages of production
Deburring and cleaning machined components
Preparing components for further manufacturing operations
Assisting with repetitive production work under supervision
Basic inspection and checking of components once trained
Packing, labeling and preparing completed orders for dispatch
Organizing materials and finished components within the workshop
General workshop housekeeping and maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Assisting the engineering team with other day-to-day workshop duties as required
No previous engineering experience is necessary, as training will be provided. The main things we're looking for are reliability, a good work ethic, a willingness to learn and someone comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Initially, this will be a Workshop Assistant role. However, for the right candidate who shows an interest and aptitude for engineering, we'd like there to be an opportunity to develop their skills further, potentially progressing into CNC machining and a formal engineering apprenticeship.
The position will initially be temporary/flexible while we assess suitability, with the potential to develop into a permanent position for the right person.
