Whuppity Scoorie 2021 Winners announced

Lanark's annual tradition

The annual Whuppity Scoorie traditions have been unable to take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

A virtual competition was launched for local children to submit photos of their Best Decorated 'Scoorie' Ball.

On 1st March when Whuppity Scoorie would usually take place, The Royal Burgh of Lanark Community Council (RBLCC) announced the winners of our Whuppity Scoorie decorated paper ball competition. Well done to Alexa, Jay J, Kai and Addy. The 2021 winners will receive a certificate and a prize which have been generously donated by Margo and Tom Yates, who also judged this year's entries.

Margo and Tom have been longstanding supporters of Whuppity Scoorie over the years and all members of the Community Council would like to thank them for again supporting the event in it's different format this year.

An album of all the winning entries can be viewed here on Facebook.
