Get Walking Lanarkshire
About the Role
Help others to become healthier and happier by leading our health walks.
The walks are free, last no longer than an hour and go at a gentle pace, making it easier for people to become more active.
Health walks typically have a front leader and back marker and each walk ideally has a team of 4 walk leaders.
Apart from taking people on a walk, walk leaders will welcome new walkers, give route information (where, how long/ how far, hazards - all provided), encourage some social activity and deal with a bit of paperwork.
You will meet new people, get to know your local area better, improve your health and wellbeing, and see your walkers improve too.
About Get Walking Lanarkshire
Get Walking Lanarkshire is a partnership project between North and South Lanarkshire councils, NHS Lanarkshire and Paths for All. The project aims to encourage more people to walk and wheel more often and improve their health and wellbeing by the delivery of a free health walk programme across Lanarkshire.
