Enjoy a spectacular day of pageantry in and around Lanark town centre.
The Lanimer Procession featuring spectacular pageants and tableaux, decorated vehicles, characters in costume and bands will leave from St. Leonard Street at 10am. There are lots of opportunities to see all the colour sights round the full route which takes in High Street, Wellgate, Hyndford Road, Ladyacre Road, Bannatyne Street and High Street, finishing at the Cross.
This is followed by the traditional Ceremony of the Crowning of the Lanimer Queen.
In the afternoon, the Lanimer Afternoon Procession and Massed Bands leaves Ladyacre Road at 1.40pm, proceeding to Castlebank Park via Bannatyne Street, High Street and Castlegate. The Lanimer Afternoon Lord Cornet's Equestrian Rideout leaves from Delves Park at 2pm.
Castlebank Park itself is open from 11am with live music, Family Fun Zone, inflatables and children's rides, refreshments, stalls and much more! Entry is £4 for over 18s, free for under 18s.
The Evening Spectacular at the Cross starts at 5.15pm with Presentations to the Lanimer Queen, the Lord Cornet and ex Lord Cornets Parade, the Lord Cornet's Declaration, a display of Massed Pipes and Drums, the Beating of the Retreat, and a Lone Pipers Lament concluding at 6.30pm with the Finale and March Off.
